Sample Third Person Post of the Character:

Gent let the engine of Le Coeur stutter to a halt as he approached the river’s version of the Sundance outskirts. He had been alone for some time now and his thoughts were getting the best of him. He couldn’t stop thinking of the numerous “last looks” that he had seen in his life… those of his family, his father, brother, and mother, in that order. Not to mention the women in his life and the friends that he left behind at every port. He was tired of it. As much as he loved life on the water, the freedom and the quiet, he needed to be around people more. When was the last time he had walked down the street with a friend? When was the last time he had filched a good treasure? Not that he would steal from the River Runners… but the idea of getting into something nice in town… that was definitely tempting. He had heard about the other tribes- had never bothered with them much- but he knew of their comparable wealth and he was sure they wouldn’t miss some of it. He needed to get into some trouble.

Hell, he needed a lady. He needed someone soft and warm and all to tempting for a Cajun man like himself to resist. That was his problem. He loved being by himself, but he missed the constant companionship of a cherie. So why had he returned to Sundance? Why in the world would he come here if he was looking for love? Sure, he had flirted with some of the women here… but, for the most part; they weren’t the kind of soft he was looking for in a woman. Many of them here had grown hard from the life they were forced to lead. They weren’t fond of the way his Momma had taught him to treat a good-lookin’ lady. Gent let a gust of air out of his lungs.

Momma, where’uv all theh good gal’s gone?” Singing to himself in a warm chocolate voice that matched his skin, Gent guided his boat towards the small colony that had accumulated on the banks of Sundance. It hadn’t been this crowded when he’d last dropped in. Who knew? Perhaps there was a soft little lady for him on one of the boats, or in one of those houses. “We’llah say that you can’t miss a-somethin’ that you’va nevah had, so tell meh, why, why I could feel so bad?” He smiled his charming, crooked smile and thought of the fun he always had in this place. No, a two or three-week stay here would do him a load of good. Perhaps, if he found a reason, he would stay for even longer.
